So Many Silly/Funny/Happy Faces

My baby sister..where do I begin?! To say that she is a "character" would only be the understatement of the century.  So...with this layout I tried to capture just how animated she can be at any given moment for any occasion. Doesn't matter if we are in public or private there is no filter for the antics and dramatics she freely induces. Needless to say, she is full of surprises and there is never a dull moment hanging out with this girl. She is infectious with her charisma and has a special way of commanding attention in a crowded room. All those who know my sister laugh non-stop and find themselves in anticipation of the next "show", myself included.
My sister is BOLD and BRAVE and unapologetically true to who she is at all times. No filter, no shame, no fear...I find that extremely inspiring. I hope to one day also be as brave and as strong as she is. She truly is an inspiration to behold and hope she never loses any of her SHINE. :)

Theme Page

So the story behind this "White Queen" page ...Obviously Alice in Wonderland is a special movie for me and my sister. We actually send little text quotes to eachother at random intervals. One of the many random things my sister and I share. I enjoy this little game we've come up with for two reasons, #1 It lets me know she's having a moment thinking of me and #2 She lets me know exactly what she's thinkink of.
I put three theme pages  from the movie in her album and this one is by far my fav. I found the image of white roses on a google search, I embellished them with some Stickles dots to look like dew. The white queen was also found in a google image search and I printed her on velum paper ( I did not know at the time that doing this would create a 3-D effect to the image). I then glued it to a white piece of cardstock and cut out her outline. I used the Stickles again to add enhancements to her hair and give the page a little more texture.
I think when I go to re-create this page for myself I will actually add in some flowers to fill in some space and add a little more feminine touches. I might also relocate the journaling.
I highly recommend printing bold images on velum and then gluing them to a piece of plain cardstock. The effect it gives is really unique.

Hello Again :)

This page was for an album i did for my baby sister. She was moving to Texas with our mother and it was the first time we would be so far apart. I wanted her to have something to help remember that no matter the distance or time and space between us, we would always be sister. That was something big, important, and unbreakable. This is the first page in the book, it has about 23 pages total. I will post several more pics from it soon. Since giving this album to my sister, i have gone back to duplicate my Fav pages for my own keeping. I hope you all will enjoy.

Books I LOVE!

I have noticed that one thing i love to do, (usually while enjoying my morning cup of Joe) is reading NEW books on Scrapbooking, or basicly anything that contains NEW Innovative "tips & tricks".  Some people might find this a bit funny, but i believe it is crucial to my craft, I have to feed my knowledge in this medium if i am to grow. Not to mention the sheer thrill and excitement of looking over new layouts & ideas i can take and incorporate in my own unique ways.
I sometimes feel as if my mind is this bubbly stew of creativity and my new reading material is like the "secrete ingredient" i'm adding in last to finish it off. LOL! (Ok, so mabye i'm also a bit of a "foodie" too.) but, it is a lot like that for me...soaking in all the little details here and there, learning about new products and tools or seeing layouts with beautiful eye catching embelishments and pops of color and beautiful paper. (sigh) I can read through a 100 page book in a matter of hours.

I have a few favs and I'd like to share them, in case any one of you out there is in need of some super helpful and "meaty" reading materials to help spur your "creative juice stew"! :)

Leisure Arts Creating Keepsakes- Books 1 & 2-"Scrapbook Tips & Techniques"
I believe there is also a 3rd book out and one on "Wedding Layouts"

Scrapbook Trends Magazine-published monthly

Memory Makers Books-"Scrapbook Page Maps"-Wonderful for layouts, esp if you get stuck, overwhelmed, or are running low on creative juice.

Hope you enjoy! :)

To My Fellow Scapbookers..

I am so excited to be here. I hope to share so much with all of you out there who are in love with scrapbooking too! That is the whole reason I have started my blog. I have been scrapping since 2008. I have recently been working on a big project for my baby sister and through much research and encouragement from friends, family, and peers, I have decided to share some of my scrap creations.

I hope that you all will enjoy seeing some of my work as well as sharing with me tips, trick and tid-bits we've all learned along the way.

One thing I have most assuredly taken from all the time and effort i've put into scrapping these beautiful, timeless pages is that it's a journey. A journey through life, "our" life and time...and you never stop growing or learning new things. How amazing and exciting is that?! To be so consumed into a community, and a world that is a never ending work of art.

So I say to all out there....HELLO HELLO HELLO I HAVE ARRIVED! :)
